What am I entitled to receive when the government takes all or part of my property?
The Florida Constitution provides that the owners of property taken are entitled to full compensation. “Full compensation” includes, but is not limited to, the fair market value of the real estate and any improvements taken, the reduced value of the remaining property or severance damages, and in some cases, moving costs. “Full compensation,” within the meaning of the Constitution, seeks to place the owner in the same position financially as if he had not had his property taken by eminent domain. This means you will not have to come out of pocket to hire attorneys and other real estate professionals to assist you. Stated another way, you can hire us at no cost to you.
